X2GC Greenham Common Airbase
Located outside Newbury in southern England this airfield was used by the  USAF. In 1958 there was a fire, allegedly involving the destruction  of a nuclear weapon. Details are still to some extent classified but  many theories abound. The 501st Tactical Missile Wing moved in with  Cruise Missiles in 1983 but these were all removed in 1991. The base  closed in 1993 and sold for the purpose of returning the land to public use in 1997.
This model is based on the outlines of the runway and taxiways still visible today in aerial photography.

EGND (X4HD)Crosland Moor is located at Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. This scenery takes account  of recent earthworks in close proximity to the airport, making it a very interesting place to visit. Put another way, with a quarry at either  end of the runway which is part Asphalt, part grass and you have an  aircraft carrier without the sea and no arrestor wires.

MOD St Athan (IATA: DGX, ICAO: EGDX) is a large United Kingdom Ministry of Defence unit near the village of  St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. It is the designated  site for the United Kingdom's new defence training academy due for  completion in 2017. It once claimed to be the largest Royal Air Force  (RAF) station (though several gunnery ranges such as RAF Spadeadam are  larger in area).

The base has been home to the RAF No 4 School of Technical Training throughout its life, as well as a major aircraft  maintenance unit. The base has also been used to house British army  units, including the 1st Battalion, Welsh Guards. At one time it was  home to a large collection of historical aircraft.

EGFE  Haverfordwest Int. Established in 1941 by the Ministry of Defense the airfield lasted only to the end of the Second World War as a military base. The airfield was little used until the 1990’s saw an upsurge in traffic and the creation of new buildings on site. The airfield now has over 10,000 aircraft  movements a year.
This was the first airfield I released for FSX. (zip format)
